WHY I CHOSE THE B70 KEURIG COFFEE MAKER
Here it is folks, this is why I gave up my morning Starbucks java and splurged on a Keurig coffee maker. Let me just start by saying that my decision did not happen over night. No sir! It took me at least six months to finally pull the trigger on this purchase.
I have always been a loyal Starbucks fan (and I still am for their non-fat, no-whip mochas). In fact, I started a blog,
MyMochaMoney.com in order to earn extra money so that I could afford my "latte factor" or in my case, the "mocha factor." In addition, I named my online book selling business, "NobleStar Books" after the two places I like to hang out: Barnes & Noble and Starbucks. So there you have it. Do you believe me now that I was a loyal Starbucks follower?
Anyway, both my husband and I enjoyed our morning Starbucks coffee brewed from our Hamilton Beach coffee maker for several years. We would take turns in the evening setting up the coffee maker to automatically turn on at 5:15 a.m. and brew our coffee. I'm home during the day so it should have been my job to clean the metal filter out whenever the coffee was finished, but I often forgot, leaving this messy chore to the person that would set up the coffee maker later in the evening. This was usually done after letting the dog out, putting him in his "room," locking up the house, getting the kids lunchboxes cleaned out (yes, that waited until later in the evening too), and right before turning out all the lights. Does this routine sound familiar to you?
Needless to say, I grew tired of this routine. Our adopted greyhound, Magic, grew old and feeble and needed more care in the evening, and our Hamilton Beach started to deteriorate each passing day where soon only a trickle would come out when you pressed your mug against the lever that released your morning brew. My arm would grow tired just waiting for the coffee to reach a respectable level.
Finally the time had come when we had to sadly say goodbye to Magic. For obvious reasons, the routine in the evening had become easier, but the fact remained that the Hamilton Beach was still a pain to deal with in the morning. Sorry, Hamilton Beach, but things had to change. The soon to be empty space on my kitchen counter would be home to a new Keurig B70 Home Brewing System.
THE B70 KEURIG COFFEE MAKER: A FAMILY FAVORITE
Fast forward a couple of months. I am pleased to report that the B70 Keurig model has fit in quite well with the family. Our evenings are no longer busy with rinsing and cleaning grinds out of a coffee maker, and setting it up to run the next morning. In addition, my arm has recovered very nicely from the Hamilton Beach coffee trickle disorder that plagued me every morning.
I purchased the Keurig 5060 K-Cup Carousel, a variety of K-Cups, and all is right with the world. The best part is, my kids can make their own hot chocolate with the Keurig machine. Yep, my six-year-old daughter can make her and her friend their own hot chocolate after playing outside in the snow (And right now in PA, we have A LOT of snow!). How cool is that?! In fact, many mornings, my daughter makes coffee for my husband and me (when she wakes up too early). Needlesstosay, Olivia has a blast with the Keurig!
So there is only one question left to ask: Do you need the
Keurig B70? You bet! I can almost guarantee with 100% confidence, that you won't regret your purchase. However, if you don't make the switch, you'll never know what you're missing out on.
Life is too short. Spend less time MAKING coffee, and more time ENJOYING it!
